Eleven intrepid sailors braved what can only be called atrocious conditions on Sunday the 27th for the running of the 15th Perth Classic at Jackadder Lake. Three just as intrepid members, led by the PRO Lloyd Coles and assisted by Dave King and Dave Odlum called the shots while trying not to freeze up. A special mention has to be made of of PRSC members Warren Rock and Rod Moss who showed the ultimate club loyalty by spectating from the members enclosure (see photo). I was trying to think of a equally horrible pastime as this, and the best I could come up with would be watching a training session of the Eagles in a snow storm. Hats off to you Warren and Rodney.
Eight races for each class were sailed, when, by mutual agreement the days sailing was called off.
There were six entries in the IOM class.
Glen Dawson was the winner of the IOM's followed by Edgar Vitte and Rob Mews.
Five 95's sailed and Kim Klaka won followed by Bruce Robins and Brian Schneider
As it was constantly drizzling if not pouring it was decided to cancel the BBQ. This had the knock on effect allowing each competitor to recieve a prize. First to third in each class received an engraved trophy and magazine with all the others getting a two pack of potato and Greek salad. What a great club.
