After atrocious weather caused the racing to be abandoned on August 17th, a rescheduled memorial race was held on 31st August and it was very well attended by both IOM and DF95 classes even attracting 3 DF sailors from other clubs, very befitting of a memorial race to a very dear colleague. With 14 of each class on the water using the 2 on/ 2 off principal, PRO Bruce Robins and his helpers had their work cut out with veering, light winds causing chaos and many stern words to the wind gods. Only 6 races per class were managed but, given the conditions, that was a good effort.

However, a well known saying of 'the cream always rises to the top' was evident with Craig Taylor disproving the sceptics who believed the day was simply about luck at being in the right place at the right time, by winning both IOM and DF95 classes. Even Brent would have been impressed!
Following Craig in the IOMs was Robbie Mews in 2nd and Wayne Coleman in 3rd position. In the DF95s Craig was followed by John Smith in 2nd and Peter Greeve in 3rd. All podium finishers were presented with a stylish guitar trophy and a copy of The Shed magazine, courtesy of David Odlum.
