All the purple prose I had in waiting to titillate you with will have to wait – the Dockers match has already started.

Saturday 05 September 2020: IOM Club Championship Heat 6, at Jackadder Lake from 2.00 pm. Weather: Partly Cloudy, Max 22, Patchy morning fog in the east. Light winds becoming northwesterly 15 to 20 km/h during the afternoon.
Sunday 06 September 2020: 10R Metro Championships at Champion Lakes, from 9.30 am. Weather: Showers, Max 21, Cloudy. Very high (near 100%) chance of showers. Winds northwesterly 15 to 25 km/h increasing to 25 to 40 km/h during the morning then turning westerly 25 to 35 km/h during the day.
Those who don’t trust me and check the weekly fixtures against the calendar will be shouting (sorry, I can’t hear you) that the One Metres are supposed to be at Maylands on Saturday at 1.30 pm – that was true but I’ve made an executive decision (I’m in a hurry, remember) and switched it back to Jackadder because A) I’m not sure if the MYC sailors even remember that it’s supposed to be there, and B) the forecast is not good for Maylands (worse than for Jackadder) and C) we’d all much rather sail at Jackadder anyway (well, maybe not all).
A deputation that presents a case shoreside tomorrow in favour of Maylands may be listened to, in which case there will be an addendum to this email, but, in the absence of such addendum, I’ll see you at Jackadder on Saturday.
For the absence of doubt, Team 4 takes over the duty from tomorrow and Team 4 is Denton Roberts (Captain), Jeff Green, Ross Bennett, Craig Taylor, Ron Cole, Bruce Quail, Alan Spargo, Maurie Summers.
Those mystified by the headline should read the story on the RSAWA News page about last week’s Great Southern Buster event in Albany – then it may make some sense.
